Chalked up in a city street
Broke glassand a bloody scene
Youg guns that are half my age
From Baghdad up to Monterey

Cell phones and the magazines
Death, bombs and with human beings
Hate, war and the diamont rings
Nightmare of silly things

How does anybody sleep at night?
Out of mind but not out of sight
Out of love and we've just begun
Living large in America

Close calls and we're holding on
Police lines and fire alarms
High winds with a heavy fall
Dead birds in a parking stall
